Before the guest episode musical fencing of Saturday Night Live This weekend, Lizzo released a new teaser for the sketch comedy series, in which longtime star Keenan Thompson made a bizarre accusation, Is she a clone? Paul Simon was the first to do this in 1976, appearing as host and guest musician four times on the series.
Lizzo is the last confirmed host of an episode of Saturday Night Live before the summer holidays but more episodes are likely to arrive in May as previous seasons wrapped up with a slight break from mid-April to early May. Other hosts included so far this season BatmanZoe Kravitz, SNL alumnus John Mulaney, Jason Sudeikis, Will Forte, Academy Award winner Ariana Deboss, and Kim Kardashian are back.
The final season also saw a slew of Marvel Studios actors hosting the series including Owen Wilson (Loki), Jonathan Majors (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man: No Way Home), Oscar Isaac (Moon Knight), and Jake Gyllenhaal (Spider-Man: Far From Home). With more episodes remaining this summer, and another major Marvel movie arriving in May, at least one more name may be added to that list.
Ahead of the next episode of Saturday Night Live, Lizzo announced that her next album, titled Special, is scheduled for release on July 15. She also debuted her new song “About Damn Time”, which can be very good for what it has to offer. Saturday night.
